Tourism, an economic sector in its own right

Tourism is one of the dominant market segments and has become a fully-fledged economic sector in its own right with almost 6,000 jobs.

The Province of Namur numbers over 400 restaurants, including several star-rated for their outstanding cuisine, and over a hundred hotels.

The tourist market is definitely expanding and has become a real instrument of development and a major supplier of direct and indirect jobs. Every year, the Namur region attracts millions of tourists, who mainly come from Belgium but also from abroad, especially from neighbouring countries.

The tourist objective is to measure up to the requirements of an increasingly demanding clientele as closely as possible, by providing them with first-rate, innovating products, while enhancing the assets of the Province such as leisure and relaxation, discovery tours, adventure sports, good food and ... business tourism!
